Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has announced the release of registration for its yearly Apple camp ,a three day workshop for kids from 8 to 12 years who can visit a retail store and learn how to create movies or interactive books by means of software like Garage Band, iBooks Author and iMovie on iPad and Mac.
Apple Camp is a place where kids bring their imaginations to life. They will learn to create movies by story boarding ideas, shooting video, and generating an original soundtrack. Or, campers can make interactive books complete with their own artworks and sound effects. This year’s two free workshops are named “Stories in Motion with iMovie” and “Interactive Storytelling with iBooks.”
The summer workshop by Apple is scheduled between 11 AM and 12:30 PM local time, on several days from July 20 to August 7 in the US, Canada , China ,France and many other countries. However ,parents are advised to sign up as early as possible, due to a limited space and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Kids are provided with a technique to generate movies of their own,extending from story entering ideas and shooting video for making an innovative soundtrack in Garage Band on an iPad and editing in iMovie on a Mac in the section of “Stories in Motion with iMovie”.
The segment “Interactive Storytelling with iBooks” teaches the kids how to make interactive books of their own by drawing illustrations on an iPad and adding sound effects and Multi-Touch features with help of iBooks Author. Apple transcripts that children should be accompanied by a parent or a legal guardian for the time period of each workshop.
